Parasite prevention

Fleas and some mites can cause or worsen itch. Year-round prevention is an important part of managing chronic skin disease.

What to track in Track the Itch

• Product name — e.g. Bravecto, NexGard, Simparica
• Type — flea, worming, combined, or other
• Interval — how often you give it (e.g. every 28 or 90 days)
• Last given and next due dates

Where to see it

• Care tab — mark prevention as given and see due-now / due-soon items
• Home — care pulse rings show upcoming due items
• Records → Timeline — logged doses appear in your case history
• Reports — parasite status is included in PDF exports

Marking as given

When you administer a dose, mark it in Care or during daily check-in. The app updates the next due date from your interval.

Why it matters for itch workups

Your vet will rule out fleas and mites before diagnosing allergy. Consistent prevention — and accurate logs — show compliance and help avoid flare-ups from preventable causes.
