Rechecks and Tracking

Consistent tracking helps you and your vet see what works and when to adjust.

Why metrics matter

  • Itch score (0–10) — Daily logging shows trends; a >50% reduction is often considered successful.
  • Lesion scores — Your vet may use CADESI or similar to measure skin changes.
  • Quality of life — Owner questionnaires can capture how much itch affects daily life.

Typical recheck schedule

  • 2–4 weeks after starting therapy.
  • 10–12 weeks after diet trial (if applicable).
  • Every 3–6 months once stable.

What to bring to rechecks

  • Track the Itch report — PDF with itch history, treatments, and parasite prevention.
  • Notes — Any flare triggers (season, stress, diet slip).
  • Questions — Compliance issues, side effects, or concerns.

Flare triggers to note

  • Seasonal pollen or weather changes.
  • Stress (travel, new pet, household change).
  • Diet or medication “cheats.”
  • Missed parasite prevention doses.

For your vet
Track the Itch reports provide itch score trends, variability, elevated/extreme day counts, and treatment compliance. Use them alongside lesion scores and QOL indices for outcome assessment.
